On Sunday, September 23rd, St. Paul Lutheran Youth Group traveled to Wausau for Paintball. Grand Valley Adventures was very accommodating to our group.
There were three courses to play on – one was in the woods, the second was an area with wooden bunkers and the third was a "speed" course with inflatable bunkers in different shapes. Everyone had a different favorite, but we all agreed that the day was lots of fun
Sue has planned a great trip for us, and thanks to her for making a dry run last summer to ensure that things ran smoothly. I have learned to appreciate the Queen city of Cincinnati, and learned more than I thought there was to learn about this area. The Creation Museum was awesome (we have an Awesome God) and I was humbled by the planetarium experience, realizing that our galaxy is but one of millions in the universe, and our solar system only a small part of our galaxy. And then to think that the eternal God chose to create life on earth, and then to come to planet Earth as a man to redeem his fallen creation...claiming us for our eternal home. AWESOME.
It has been good to spend informal time with the students and great to spend time with chaperones -- its been good chemistry. I enjoyed the ribs and picked up a recipe for Cincinnati Chili. We are not looking forward to the all night bus trip but that is part of the journey. It is getting time for devotions...and everyone is looking forward to being home for mother's day weekend. Thanks for your prayers.
I thought Ken Ham was really cool because we saw him in a video a few weeks before and it was cool to see him in person. He had a really cool accent. His message was about how society is no longer based on God's Word and all the trouble we are experiencing because of that. We need to teach our congregation members how to defend their faith and explain why we believe in creationism, even more strongly than evolutionists proclaim their message.
The Creation Museum was really fun. It was totally pretty and really interesting. My favorite part was the gardens because of all of the flowers and plants. Another cool part was the walk through of creation. The statues looked real :)
